  2.2. The Risks of Innovation (6 min.)

As you think about the two components of innovation, invention and market insight, recognize that you have also uncovered the two fundamental risks you face when innovating:

  1. Technology Risk ("can we make it?") relates to the invention component of innovation
  2. Market Risk ("will someone buy it?") relates to the market insight component of innovation

Understanding, reducing, and overcoming these two types of risk are critical to successfully innovating.
